Upstate South Carolina during Fall is a sight to see! The weather is getting cooler, the days are getting shorter, and the leaves are changing colors. It’s time to bring out your cozy sweaters along with your wool socks and head out with the family to behold the vibrant, fall foliage display. Luckily, we don’t have to drive far to enjoy one of the most beautiful seasons here. The Blue ridge mountains are right around the corner, and we wanted to share some of the best spots to enjoy the beautiful sights.

 

 

Caesar’s Head Overlook

Caesar’s Head State Park is filled with over 60 miles of trails to enjoy must-see sights during every season. Caesars Head Overlook is an easy 0.3-mile round trip walk to a breathtaking view extending from North Carolina to Georgia.

Blue Ridge Parkway

The Blue Ridge Parkway is one of the most scenic drives – if not the most scenic drive – on the east coast. It is 469 miles of non-stop views filled with mountain ranges and landscapes like no other. The Parkway extends from Cherokee, NC to Rockfish Gap, Virginia. If hiking isn’t necessarily for you, this is the perfect option to see the fall foliage without ever having to get out of your car!

Bald Rock

Located a few miles down the mountain from Caesar’s Head Overlook, Bald Rock boasts a stunning overlook of the surrounding mountains. The summit is large enough for all to enjoy without feeling crowded. Bring out your favorite picnic blanket and basket to enjoy the view!

Black Balsam Knob

If you like to hike or camp out in the wilderness, the Black Balsam Knob is the place to go. Located southwest of Asheville, North Carolina in the Pisgah National Forest, it is said to be the second tallest of the Great Balsam Mountains. It offers expansive 360 views of mountain ranges as far as the eye can see.
